Your choice of billiard cloth is the most
critical component of your table’s performance.
Only Simonis Worsted Cloth gives you a surface so smooth and flat that you never need to overpower a shot to get the distance. If you are a player, you will know and appreciate this. With Simonis 300 Carom Billiard Cloth, ball spin is consistent and roll is accurate, supporting you on those delicate shots, and letting you run the full table. Consistent play is the key reason Simonis Cloth has been on tournament tables all around the world … for generations.
Simonis worsted cloth is woven from combed wool yarn of long, tightly twisted threads. This is what “worsted” means. Since 1680, it is part of the tradition of expert craftsmanship from the Simonis mills in Belgium. You see, standard woolen cloths have long and short fibers that are woven together to make a bulky yarn with a fuzzy surface. With Simonis Cloth, the short fibers are removed from the yarn, and the yarn is then twisted before weaving, producing a tough but smooth, and level cloth. On your table, it is flat and true, without the nap that sheds, compresses, or pils. Up close, Simonis Cloth looks and feels very different. It is smooth instead of fuzzy. There’s none of the felt-like softness and nap that pils, sheds, and forms gullies on your table, and affects the speed and accuracy of your shots. With Simonis, your cloth assures more consistent speed, spin, and cushion rebound, and the high wool content helps reduce “ball burn.”
Simonis Cloth lasts 2 to 3 times longer than ordinary woolen cloth. It is a value as well as an asset to your game. You know your table represents a fairly sizeable investment, so whether you play for sport or reward, you should insist on the world’s best table covering -- Simonis.
